The main character sits at the piano alone, refusing to take his medication because it would mean letting go of the ghost of the woman he loves, singing about how all of his joy would be gone if he couldn't spend even this fictional time together with her... Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone. Jack is struggling through these same feelings. Which should he choose, reality or fantasy?
