Kira took two more steps. Her dress swayed gently with the breeze, and her eyes clung to Jack’s. She accused, “You never said goodbye.”Jack closed another foot of distance, and replied solemnly, “I couldn’t... I wouldn’t have been able to leave.”
Kira’s heart ached with all of the hope inside her. She took another step, and asked, “Why is that, Jack?”
Jack felt his heart thump a little harder, hearing his name on her lips. He had spent so many nights dreaming of her, and now… now she was here, and it felt so right. Jack stood rooted to the ground –vulnerable- and admitted, “Because I couldn’t stand the possibility of never seeing you again.” ~ Chapter 64 ~
